State and Federal incentives
Both the Victorian and Federal governments vigorously support the film and television industry through various financial incentives.
DEWHA – Film – Australian Screen Production Incentive
Australian Screen Production Incentive - A Location Offset, Post/Digital/Visual Effects Offset and Producer Offset are available through Screen Australia and the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA).
Film Victoria – Financial Incentives
The Victorian Government, through Film Victoria, offers incentives to encourage producers to bring their film and television projects to Melbourne and the State including the Regional Location Assistance Fund (RLAF) which is designed to encourage productions to use locations outside metropolitan Melbourne. RLAF assists projects by offsetting some of the additional costs incurred when filming in regional areas such as accommodation, living overheads and travel.
