Harrietville

Overview

Tucked in at the foot of the surrounding slopes of the Ovens Valley, Harrietville is protected from the extremes of summer and winter weather. The cosy open fires within friendly local establishments, the local rivers and the water holes set Harrietville apart from other small towns, making it an ideal filming location at the base of the snow capped mountains.

History

The last town before Mt Hotham, Harrietville is an old goldmining town that was settled in 1852. Its history is captured in a riverside park that pays homage to the local pioneers, and is a pleasant, secluded spot to film.
