Mount Hotham

Overview
Hotham village is located in the heart of the Victorian Alps, surrounded by Alpine National Park. It's classic Australian wilderness. Think snowgums, think rolling mountain ridges, think Man from Snowy River country ... it's breathtaking and has so much to offer the film industry.
History
During European settlement, Mt Hotham was grazing land, however mining soon followed when gold was discovered in almost all the river valleys surrounding Hotham. It was soon after that the intrinsic beauty of the area brought interest in recreational use of the area.
During the 1930s runs such as Varsity Drag and Blue Ribbon were cleared and many areas were named including 'Mary's Slide' after an Australian Women's Champion.
