Thoona

Overview
Thoona is a great place for film makers wanting to depict your typical quiet country town lifestyle. Here you can visit the remains of the first co-operative butter factory in the North East, or stroll around the gardens, nursery and gallery.
Each year in November, Thoona plays host to a rather unusual, but uniquely Australian, event - the Victorian Wheelie Bin Championships, which was made in to a documentary in 2001.
History
The architecture of Thoona is one of its highlights and sites to note include the beautifully restored hotel, dating back over 100 years, and the traditional general store, still operating after opening its doors in 1910.
