The Man from Snowy River

Synopsis
This classic Australian film, set in the Snowy Mountains in Victoria, was a landmark for the Australian film industry when it was released in 1982. Sparking a wave of patriotism throughout movie-goers Australia wide, it's phenonemal success rested not on it's script, nor on it's budget, but on the portrayal of the characters and the lifestyle that were epitomised through the works of those such as Banjo Pattersons 'Clancy of the Overflow'.
Set against the breathtaking countryside of the Snowy Mountains, the film is a looking glass into the Australian culture, and has inspired many a TV-series and stageshow in the wake of its success.
